A Conservative government led in our area by Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen has secured this amazing regeneration organisation. Hats off to Mayor Houchen for his achievements to date. Remember the old Teesside Development Corporation in the 1990s? Thanks to the governments investment at the time, we now have Teesside Park, Hartlepool Marina, Teesdale Business Park and Tees Barrage. Building on this ambition, we now have the South Tees Development Corporation in Redcar which I chair. This morning I unveiled our ambitious masterplan to completely regenerate the former SSI steelworks site.
