Press Statement 18022019 Putting Hartlepool First Dissolves. Following almost eight years as a Local Political Party, members and elected representatives decided at the 201819 AGM held on the 16th February 2019, to dissolve the party in line with the Partys Constitution. Putting Hartlepool First (PHF) was represented by four Independent Councillors representing two separate wards within Hartlepool, however during the AGM it was accepted that the party had run its course, and with a growing number of Independent Councillors now representing various wards in the town, it had done its job. Putting Hartlepool First was built around an ethos that local issues should be decided locally without influence by regional or national party politics. All elected members were identified as Independent, with the PHF brand providing a group identity. James Black, current Seaton Ward Councillor and previously Group Leader of PHF, stated Its a sad day for PHF, its supporters, members and its elected representatives, but I believe its the right one. Id like to thank everyone who has supported the group over the past eight years and everyone who has been nominated. The group are proud of its achievements, always asking the right questions, whilst representing the town in a dignified manner. Members previously registered as PHF Councillors Leisa Smith, Sue Little, James Black Seaton Ward Councillors and Tony Richardson Fens and Rossmere Ward Councillor have all agreed to continue to work together for the good of the town, with Councillor Black adding we will ensure we continue to ask the questions, others may be afraid to ask.
