We finally have an update on the requested speed bumps on Windermere Road from Peter Frost. Details are below 85 of vehicles were recorded travelling at or below recommended speed for the area. This speed is 25mph, with the mean average figure being 20mph. These results dont indicate excessive speeds for a road of this nature, however, I agree with your concerns regarding children playing in the area, and also the close proximity of the Belle Vue Centre which will lead to higher numbers of children in the area than there would otherwise be. We do have a number of requests for safety schemes at present and given the limited budgets available it is anticipated that these will be reported to the Councils Neighbourhood Services Committee for approval of the highest priority schemes. I will ensure that Windermere Road is part of this prioritisation process, and will let you know when the report is due to go to Committee.
