Important information about spam emails, telephone calls and letters. Important information for all residents. Many residents have reported a rise in the number of spam emails, telephone calls and letters they are receiving. The letters, in particular, may look extremely genuine, but could, in fact, be fake. One resident has recently received a letter from HMRC which look very real but was in fact fake. Please be super vigilant with any unexpected emails, phone calls or letters you receive. Never tell people your bank details, and dont be persuaded to do something your not comfortable doing. 1. Unsolicited emails mark them as Spam and block delete 2. Phone calls Say very clearly you want your details taking off their records and hang up. If they persist in calling you, please contact the police 3. Letters, particularly from apparent government departments if you have any doubt please take the letter to the police so they can look into it for you. Be safe, be vigilant and never give out your personal details to anyone.
